Bernard Mohr
Co-Founder and Chair
After 40 years of practice as an applied social scientist and entrepreneur, in 2021, Bernard co-founded (with Neil Samuels) The CCMV Collaborative. The Collaborative was created on the premise that private enterprise can and must be part of solving today’s world-wide challenges – meaningful inclusion of all people in shared future making, valuing of diverse and often unrepresented voices and a seat at the table of economic prosperity for everyone. Extraordinary stewardship of our biosphere, pioneering solutions to our unprecedented social and racial injustices and divides and unsupportable economic disparities are as much an obligation of private enterprise as shareholder returns. That private enterprise has unique capacities in the area or massive innovation is unquestionable. That such innovation is essential both for society and private enterprise is common sense. The role of private enterprise in partnering with all stakeholders to create mutual social, economic and environmental value is what will make possible a world that works for all.
During the previous 40 years Bernard Mohr had the opportunity to serve as Dean of Complex Systems Change at the Institute for Applied Behavioral Science as well as a Director on their Board; adjunct faculty in organizational innovation at Concordia University, developer of both theory and practice in Socio-Technical Systems Design and Appreciative Inquiry, publish seven books and many articles dealing with co-creating more humane and effective organizations, and found two successful professional service organizations.
He was fortunate to work with clients such as Baystate Health, British Petroleum, Canadian Broadcasting Corp., Coca Cola, Exxon, GSK, Delhaize, LL Bean, Novartis, Tufts Medical Center, University of Maine System, US Internal Revenue Service and the World Health Organization – throughout the USA, Central America, the Caribbean, Western Europe, Canada and the Middle East , on human centered innovation of service delivery, management and production challenges – specializing in health care delivery, post secondary education and R&D functions within health sciences and petroleum exploration.
Christopher Reaves
Core Team
Chris has abiding interests in how the world works, how he might have a positive influence and how to engage others in making things better. The core of these interests developed as a consequence of moving to Hong Kong as a ten-year-old and spending his teenage years in this vibrant, diverse environment. He extended these interests from human interactions to the natural world as a student of geology at Amherst College and Yale University. His appreciation of the rich opportunities available in other cultures were reinforced by another decade spent overseas as an adult in Great Britain, Indonesia, and Denmark.
In a three-decade career in the oil and gas industry, he found ways to pursue these interests as a research scientist, explorationist, supervisor, and change agent. Along the way, he discovered the value of collaboration, networking, and cross-discipline knowledge sharing. As an observer and participant in modern life, Chris has become increasingly concerned with how limited perspectives and self-interests are damaging our political, economic, and environment systems. Engaging with the CCMV Collaborative offers a productive next act in the story of understanding and influencing how to make a better world– one that works for all.
